Who we are
Hi, I’m Beth, a body piercer and owner of Lumina Piercing. I’ve been in the industry since 2012 and have been a professional body piercer since 2017.
At Lumina Piercing we always strive to deliver the best service possible. I believe that quality products and ever-expanding knowledge have made it possible to do so. Having worked in the industry for so long, I have gained a wealth of knowledge on body piercing techniques, anatomy, and aftercare. This means any piercing questions you have about body piercing, I can answer them.
When I’m not in the studio, you’ll most likely find me around Malvern and Worcester. I have a three-year-old Rottie called Cash (pictured below). He hates going for walks and would much rather be sleeping on the sofa so you might catch me dragging a 55lbs Rottweiler around Malvern. I have an amazing family and partner whom I love to spend my time with. I’m a massive bookworm and have a passion for history. I love to travel and will often share my travels on the Lumina Piercing Instagram page!
How we pierce
Body piercing has had a resurgence in popularity over the last decade or so, we have found a lot more people are realising the negativity of piercing guns. However, there are still those who believe piercing guns are safe and a good way to get pierced. If you wish to learn more about the differences between needle piercing and piercing guns, please look at say no to the gun where I have gone into more detail on the subject.
At Lumina, everything we use to carry out a piercing service is either single-use or sterilised using our in-house auto-clave. We do not use piercing guns of any piercings. For all piercing services, we use single-use sterile needles. Single-use needles also include never reusing the same needle on a client, if you have two piercings with us, we will use two needles. I’m sure that sounds like a given but people do often ask if I can to save cost but the answer is always no.
The jewellery we use is only ever of a high-quality material. We use implant-grade titanium jewellery. Any additional equipment used e.g. clamps or tapering pins is sterilised in our auto-clave between every use.
Aftercare
I truly believe the most important aspect of getting a new piercing is aftercare. If you don’t receive sufficient aftercare you are wasting both your time and money. For this reason, I am very passionate about sharing as much knowledge with every client as possible. When you are pierced Lumina, we require a consent form to be completed. Once you have done this, you will receive an email outlining the aftercare. At the end of the piercing appointment, I will go through aftercare with you and you will be given a leaflet which also contains aftercare information.
We sell saline solutions at the studio at an additional cost. This is optional and alternatives will be explained to you at the appointment.
